ASOPRS Lester Jones Surgical Anatomy Award
ASOPRS Lester Jones Surgical Anatomy Award for outstanding contributions to the field of ophthalmic facial plastic surgery was given to Dr. Deborah D. Sherman MD, in recognition of significant contribution to the understanding of surgical anatomy in ophthalmic plastic surgery presented by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc., the premier national society of Fellowship trained Ophthalmic Plastic surgeons who are also Board-Certified Ophthalmologists.
Merrill Reeh Pathology Award
Merrill Reeh Pathology Award was given to Dr. Deborah D. Sherman MD, to recognize a significant contribution of advancing the field of scientific research. The award is given to honor the best research paper published in a peer reviewed journal on a pathology subject in the field of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The Merrill Reeh Pathology Award is given by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc, the premier national society of Fellowship trained Ophthalmic Plastic surgeons who are also Board-Certified Ophthalmologists.

Dr. Sherman believes that knowledge of anatomy is essential to achieve a natural look in any aesthetic procedure. As a renowned anatomy expert, she served as the first author of an anatomy chapter published Duane’s Clinical Ophthalmology 5 volume series that is the definitive text for every practicing eye surgeon. This anatomy chapter serves as the gold standard for all surgeons studying anatomy around the eyes.
