Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for my treatment?

Avoid self tanners, tanning creams, sun tanning and tanning beds 3 weeks prior to your laser treatment and during your treatments. Otherwise your tanned skin will absorb more light, which may lead to adverse effects. Arrive for your treatment with out makeup, lotions, creams or perfumes in the treatment area.

Please notify Dr. Sherman aesthetic center’s staff if you start any antibiotics or accutane prior to or during your laser sessions, become pregnant or have a history of breaking out with fever blisters.

Is the treatment painful?

You may experience some moderate discomfort during the procedure—patients often report a mild burning or tingling sensation—but treatment is not painful, and is minimally invasive. Cooling agents are in place in order to maximize comfort and protect the outer layers of the skin.

How many treatments are required?

Laser treatment for facial veins is usually performed every four weeks until satisfactory results are achieved. Several treatments may be required to completely eliminate your facial veins. The sessions themselves can be as brief as a few minutes.

How much will it cost?

Laser facial vein treatments cost from $200–$450. Treatments can last anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes and are usually spaced about 3 to 4 weeks apart depending on the severity of the unwanted veins. Ask us about our money saving specials on laser treatments.
