Frequently Asked Questions
What is Restylane Lyft?
Restylane Lyft, made by Medicis, is a dermal filler and is a long-lasting gel that, once injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, provides lift and added volume and help diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Restylane Lyft is made of a natural substance called hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar molecule already present in the human body. Restylane Lyft is a completely safe treatment.
How does Restylane Lyft work?
The natural substance, hyaluronic acid, in Restylane Lyft simply supplements the body’s age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump up the lip or to raise the skin and “fill in” the particular wrinkle or fold being treated. The difference between Restylane and Restylane Lyft is the size of the particle (with Restylane Lyft containing more hyaluronic acid). This means that Restylane Lyft does a better job of filling deeper lines while Restylane is used in fine lines or in thin skinned people. Both may be used in one treatment session to naturally create a youthful face.
Do Restylane Lyft injections hurt?
In order to optimize your comfort, the treatment area may be anesthetized with a topical cream or anesthetic block. Anesthetic blocks are now used less frequently because there is a new formulation, Restylane Lyft that contains an anesthetic ingredient inside the gel that immediately goes to work to prevent pain. Ice can also be applied directly to the treatment site prior to injection.
