What Is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm, made by Allergan, is a long-lasting cosmetic filler that dramatically improves the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, and folds. Over time, certain areas of the face naturally lose volume as a part of the normal aging process. How Does Juvéderm Work?

Juvéderm is made up of a natural hyaluronic acid, which adds volume back to facial tissue. You will see results immediately after the procedure. Although you may have some swelling right after the treatment, the swelling will go down within a few days. The final results vary in patients, depending on how much Juvéderm is used or how much volume has been lost before treatment. Do Juvéderm Injections Hurt?

At our medical spa in Nashville, Tennessee, our master injectors use a very thin needle to minimize painand discomfort. Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the designated area, and/or ice is applied to reduce sensation. A nerve block could be used if desired, especially for lip injections.
