What Is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm, made by Allergan, is a long-lasting cosmetic filler that dramatically improves the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, and folds. Over time, certain areas of the face naturally lose volume as a part of the normal aging process. By injecting Juvéderm into these areas of the face, we can smooth out wrinkles and folds by replacing the lost volume. This is a non-surgical solution to soften facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, plump up lips, and fill in unwanted scars. Juvéderm injected into the lips can restore fullness to lips that have become volume-deflated over time. The cosmetic results are visible immediately, bestowing you with a more youthful and invigorated look.

How Does Juvéderm Work?

Juvéderm is made up of a natural hyaluronic acid, which adds volume back to facial tissue. You will see results immediately after the procedure. Although you may have some swelling right after the treatment, the swelling will go down within a few days. The final results vary in patients, depending on how much Juvéderm is used or how much volume has been lost before treatment. Individual facial analysis by a Master Injector is required to determine how much Juvéderm is needed to achieve each patient’s expectations.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Juvéderm in Nashville, Tennessee?

Juvéderm products are formulated with naturally derived hyaluronic acid, a biocompatible compound that most patients tolerate exceptionally well. Therefore, almost everyone is a candidate, provided they are healthy and free of active skin infections or disorders. Patients also need to be free of allergies to any ingredients in Juvéderm. A patch test can be performed prior to your visit, just to make sure.

In general, Juvéderm in Nashville is an excellent solution for those struggling with:

  • static lines
  • nasolabial folds
  • volume loss.

It is the perfect anti-aging treatment for patients who desire enhanced vitality and volume without undergoing invasive surgery. During your private consultation, our team at the Sherman Aesthetic Center in Nashville, Tennessee, will assess your goals, skin quality, and medical history to ensure Juvéderm injections will be the ideal choice.

Do Juvéderm Injections Hurt?

At our medical spa in Nashville, Tennessee, our master injectors use a very thin needle to minimize painand discomfort. Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the designated area, and/or ice is applied to reduce sensation. A nerve block could be used if desired, especially for lip injections. Furthermore, Juvéderm contains a numbing ingredient that works immediately to reduce pain, making a nerve block required in only rare cases. Many patients find the injections tolerable with little to no discomfort.
